Desert Engagement

June 20, 2017  •  Leave a Comment

I had such a wonderful desert themed photo shoot this weekend! Natalie and I talked about her favorite colors, her relationship, and what she envisioned for her shoot. So we decided on the barren solitude of the lakebed, and Nelson Ghost Town for the locations.

I have to say I owe everything to my camera, and lens! After chasing the sunset, and finally getting to our second location (the lakebed) with minimal light, my camera pulled through and captured the last few minutes of natural light with no flash. It was risky but Natalie wanted that soft natural light, and making it to our second location was for the best.

So let me tell you about these two. Natalie and Phillip just got engaged.

But there's more to this story....

Natalie and Phillip didn't just meet. They have known each other for a long long time. Natalie and Phillip met in Middle School, and it wasn't until years later their lives would cross paths again. One thing led to another, they fell in love, and the rest is history. Soon they will begin their new lives together. Natalie, Phillip, and little Jayden. A happy family of three.

I love, love, love all my clients I meet. Every session feels like I've told a love story. It was a pleasure to capture this moment in their lives. Congratulations Natalie and Phillip! Thank you for choosing me to visually document this next chapter in your lives together!

Las Vegas Destination Engagement

August 10, 2016  •  1 Comment

One of my favorite things I love to do is tell a story through my work, and by the time I met Nalini I felt Like I already knew her! Her husband Kerron was so kind as well, and right after listening to them talk in the car on our way to our destination, I knew they would have many years of happiness. He was so helpful and let me tell you girls....if you have a man so willing to go through all this for his wife-to-be, he's a keeper! Themed photography is not for the weak, haha!

Wow what an amazing experience meeting this couple. I had so much fun planning this session. I feel as if my husband and I met such a wonderful couple. I hope to see them again someday. I was sad to say goodbye, and when I did I felt like I was saying goodbye to our two new friends. Here is to you Nalini & Kerron! May you have many wonderful years together. I hope you enjoy your storybook I have put together for you. I hope it captured the love I saw between you both. Congratulations on your Engagement!

Shadow & Zelda

July 20, 2015  •  3 Comments

Introducing Shadow & Zelda, the newest members in our family. My daughter has wanted a puppy for a long time, so we decided to get two for her birthday. We have been pondering for a while when to get a pair of puppies. We wanted two so they could have each other and I am so glad we did! They are like two peas in a pod and always have to be together. I must admit that it is hard! Getting up at 4:30 in the morning to take them out to potty has been a challenge and exhaustingly daunting. But they are catching on quite fast. They have such individual personalities.

Zelda is sweet, calm cool and collected but don't let her fool you! When her brother is overly rough, she lets him know right away!

Shadow is a sweet, and persistently stubborn. I love the way he looks at me out of the corner of his eye when he doesn't get his way. Almost to say with a big long drawn out sigh, "Ok, but I'm not happy with this at all."

So after a couple of days I decided to grab the camera and snap a couple pictures. I've taken pictures of dogs before, and spontaneous toddlers. But nothing compared to trying to get these two rambunctious Labs to sit still! The rain didn't help either! Of course toddlers are hard but they don't try to attack your camera and nibble at your toes either. Well when all was said and done, I did get a few. I hope to get a couple more Photoshoots in before they grow. They won't be this small for long!
